Admission Policy

 

Purpose

To establish fair, transparent, and professional student admission procedures.


 

  • Admissions are open regardless of gender, race, tribe, religion, or nationality. 
  • Applicants must provide valid identification documents. 
  • Students must meet minimum course requirements. 
  • The institution reserves the right to verify all submitted information. 
  • Admission is confirmed only after payment and registration.

Student Code of Conduct Policy

 

 

Purpose

To maintain professionalism and discipline.


Key Areas


Students shall:

  • maintain professionalism, 
  • observe proper grooming, 
  • respect trainers and fellow students, 
  • avoid intoxication during training, 
  • avoid discrimination and harassment, 
  • uphold institutional reputation. 


Disciplinary Actions

  • verbal warning, 
  • written warning, 
  • suspension, 
  • expulsion for severe misconduct.

Attendance Policy

 

  • Students must maintain at least 80% attendance. 
  • Late attendance beyond 20 minutes may be marked absent. 
  • Practical sessions are compulsory. 
  • Repeated absenteeism may affect certification eligibility.

Responsible Alcohol Service & Handling Policy

 

 

1. Policy Overview

The Responsible Service Policy establishes professional standards governing the safe, lawful, ethical, and responsible handling, service, promotion, and consumption of alcoholic beverages within the institution’s training environment and during any associated hospitality activities.

The policy aims to:

  • protect students, guests, staff, and customers, 
  • promote professionalism within hospitality operations, 
  • encourage responsible drinking culture, 
  • reduce alcohol-related harm, 
  • and align hospitality training with industry best practices. 

This policy applies to:

  • students, 
  • trainers, 
  • administrative staff, 
  • corporate trainees, 
  • internship participants, 
  • and all external partners participating in training activities organized by the institution. 

2. Policy Objectives

The policy seeks to:

  • Promote responsible alcohol service standards 
  • Prevent service to intoxicated persons 
  • Prevent underage drinking 
  • Encourage ethical beverage marketing 
  • Ensure safe consumption practices 
  • Develop professional hospitality conduct 
  • Protect the institution’s reputation 
  • Align training with hospitality compliance expectations 

3. Guiding Principles

a) Professionalism

All alcoholic beverage handling and service must reflect professionalism, discipline, and ethical conduct.

b) Safety First

The safety of guests, students, staff, and the public shall take priority over commercial interests.

c) Legal Compliance

All beverage service activities must comply with Kenyan laws governing alcohol sale, service, and consumption.

d) Responsible Consumption

The institution promotes moderation and discourages excessive alcohol consumption.

e) Respect & Dignity

All guests and consumers must be treated respectfully, including during refusal-of-service situations.

4. Scope of Application

This policy applies to:

  • classroom practicals, 
  • mock bar sessions, 
  • beverage demonstrations, 
  • tasting activities, 
  • corporate outlet trainings, 
  • competitions, 
  • hospitality events, 
  • internships, 
  • and institutional hospitality functions.
